September fundraising has started

Runners were out in force in Henley on Saturday September 9th and Sunday September 10th to raise money for their chosen charities. It was time for the Thames Path Challenge 2017. The sun shone and spirits were high. Congratulations to all those who entered and rose to the challenge.

Acquire Care was proud to be represented by the owner of the company, Nick, and his two year old son Ben on Sunday September 10th. Nick decided to go for the 2K Challenge as it was Ben’s first attempt at running to raise money for charity. Acquire Care had decided that The Silver Line would be it’s chosen charity to support for 2017. The charity was founded in 2013 by Esther Rantzen to combat loneliness. She wrote an article on the subject of loneliness after she was widowed. This letter caused a wave of response from people who found themselves in the same position. This provided the motivation for Esther to tackle this problem head on. The Silver Line provides a free confidential 24 hour telephone helpline which gives information, friendship, advice and support to older people. It is open every day of the year. For more information or help, call The Silver Line anytime on 0800 4 70 80 90 or visit www.thesilverline.org.uk.

Nick and Ben have already raised over £100 for The Silver Line but if anyone would like to donate, please contact Nick on 01865 601010 or email info@acquirecare.co.uk. The 2K Challenge was well supported and was a good way of raising money for charity. Many people wore fancy dress which provided a fun atmosphere. Ben enjoyed being between a dinosaur and a dog.

Acquire Care’s fundraising continues this month as they are supporting Macmillan’s The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday September 29th. Please come and to visit Acquire Care’s offices at Shotover Kilns, Oxford to meet the team, enjoy a cuppa, cake and chat whilst raising funds for an important charity that supports those with cancer.
