Benefits of using modern technology

At last, the sun has decided to shine! However, staff at Acquire Care are not relaxing as care continues to be needed, whatever the weather. We are however always looking at ways to make our care more efficient and here we have the benefits of using modern technology to help us.

As all staff have mobile phones, it is possible for everyone to contact each other quickly and efficiently. This ensures that any problems that may occur can be dealt with as soon as possible. On the rare occasions that carers might be delayed for some reason beyond their control, the clients can be informed. This ensures that the clients are reassured that they have not been forgotten or overlooked. What a wonderful difference mobile phones and digital equipment makes to the care industry.

The management of Acquire Care decided several years ago to use modern technology to enable home visits to be monitored. All visits are now managed and checked successfully. Staff simply log-in and log-out of each visit. This automatically records when the logging-in and out takes place which enables the office staff to check that every client has received care at the right time and for the correct amount of time. This ensures that the client is getting the right support needed. Data is collected to show that care is delivered as agreed in the care plan.

It is recommended by many Councils to provide fully integrated monitoring, scheduling and financial management solutions that have been specially developed to meet the needs of the care sector.

Staff rotas can be written by electronic means. If any changes are needed, these can be made quickly and efficiently. For example, if a client has been rushed to hospital and the rota is therefore changed, the information can be passed on with no drama.

In the past, all the data would have been collected in the traditional form of paper based time-sheets and forms. These were very time consuming and often not completed correctly. Any problems would have normally taken longer to rectify than they do now. With the modern system presently used at Acquire Care, changes can be made quickly and efficiently. However, although the management are pleased with the system used at the moment, they are always looking at new ways to improve the way that care is supplied to clients and how that care is monitored. Modern technology changes and improves rapidly and Acquire Care do not to wish to miss any new ideas that are more suitable for the Company to use.
