Fundraising in September: The Thames Challenge Walk and MacMillan’s World Biggest Coffee Morning

After a busy August, all of us at Acquire Care will be turning our minds to those less fortunate than us. It will be time to start fundraising in aid of others. Our chosen charity this year is The Silver Line. The charity was founded in 2013 by Esther Rantzen to combat loneliness.

Members of Acquire Care will be taking the Henley 10K Challenge, part of the Thames Path Challenge, on Sunday September 10th. This is a 10 kilometre loop through Remenham and starts/finishes at Mill Meadows, near the River Thames by Henley Bridge. It’s allowed to walk, jog or run the Challenge. Runners are first off at 10am.

If you would like to support Acquire Care in this fundraising activity, please contact a member of the office team on 01865 601010 or email info@acquirecare.co.uk to donate to the Silver Line via Acquire Care. As well as donating, you could join us on the day as it should be a good family fun day out. Amusements, such as a big wheel, other rides and a B-B-Q have been arranged by the organisers. Numbers for the 10K walk have now reached maximum so entry for the Henley Walk have been closed (donations still welcome!) However, the Toddler 2K event is still open, so if you have youngsters in your family who think you and themselves should join in this walk, come along. There is a registration fee charged by the organisers to join the Toddlers Walk. For more information visit www.thamespathchallenge.com

Our other fundraising event in September is on Friday 29th. As mentioned earlier in the News section, Acquire Care is holding a coffee morning at Shotover Kilns in support of MacMillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning fundraising event. MacMillan supports those facing cancer and is a very worthwhile charity to help. Please put the date in your diary, come and join us, meet the staff, enjoy a cuppa, cake and a chat.
