Homecare Day 18: Your invitation to get involved

This year, on October 24^th, UKHCA are working together with Scottish Care to extend Homecare Day 18 across the United Kingdom. The aim is to celebrate and raise awareness of homecare throughout the counties.

Both UKHCA and Scottish Care are inviting all UKHCA members and organisations involved in the home care sector to use social media to share good news stories, example of great care, innovations and resources as well as any views about issues affecting the sector.

Their idea is to focus around a number of key themes throughout the day. The timetable for these is shown below:

9am: Human Rights and Homecare
10am: Workforce
11am: Commissioning
12pm: The Future of Homecare
1pm: Reform and Policy
2pm: Technology
3pm: The People that Matter
4pm: Palliative and End of Life Care
7pm: Twitter Discussion

This is a brilliant, innovative idea that deserves the attention and co-operation of the care industry. So if you have any thoughts or stories about the above topics or if you wish to start a discussion on any of these subjects, then why not join in on Twitter on October 24^th?

United Kingdom Homecare Association (UKHCA) is the professional association for homecare providers. It describes itself as a member-led professional association whose mission is to promote high-quality sustainable care services so that people can continue to live at home and in their local community. Its strategy is to deliver support to the Association’s members to enable them to adapt successfully to the challenges of the future.

With this in mind, UKHCA produces information on good practise and acts as a focal point for innovation and quality within the care industry. It fosters the exchange of information and ideas between members; monitors developments in the UK and internationally which may be of interest to members. It also forms links with other organisations and individuals having similar or sympathetic objectives where co-operation will benefit members and recipients of home care.

Homecare Day 2018 on October 24^th is one way that UKHCA delivers on its aim. This will provide a fantastic chance to share good news stories and innovations.
