Coronavirus: The second lockdown

Now that we are in another lockdown, Acquire Care’s main aim is to ensure that all our staff and clients stay secure and safe. We are still visiting clients as before, enabling them to stay at home in a safe and independent environment – just expect us to look slightly different as we will be wearing face masks or shields and other types of PPE. New guidelines and rules have been agreed following the advice of the Government, Public Health England and Oxfordshire County Council. These include strict guidelines concerning personal protective equipment (PPE). Masks, visors (face shields), aprons and gloves are given to all our carers to use when visiting clients to protect both our clients and our carers.

Do you need help looking after a family member?

So, if you need help looking after a family member, either full-time or for a few hours or would like extra help, do give us a call. Perhaps Acquire Care can help, both during the coronavirus pandemic lockdown or after it has ended?

With care homes being susceptible to the coronavirus COVID-19, many people are asking domiciliary carers to help them instead. By you and your family telling us what help is needed and when, Acquire Care can tailor a care package to suit you. A care plan can help to give you independence and make life enjoyable again. The aim is to support you as and when you need it so that you can stay safe in the home you love. The carer can visit once or several times a day or live-in; the amount of care needed depends on you. Instead of having the stress of moving to a care home which does not allow visitors at the moment, why not stay in the comfort of your home where your family and friends can visit when you wish.

Our coronavirus policy

We have a stringent coronavirus policy which all staff and carers must support and keep to. All our carers and staff are fully trained in-house. They frequently have their temperatures taken and are asked how they are feeling. They are supported if tests are needed or if they think they should self-isolate. Now is the time for flu vaccinations to be given and carers are being advised to take advantage of the free vaccinations supplied by GPs and pharmacies. When the coronavirus vaccinations are available, carers will be encouraged to have these as well. Acquire Care follow the Government’s and Local Authority’s guidelines. For more information, please visit www.gov.uk. New sets of gloves, aprons, masks and visors are given for every care visit that is made. There are no limits on how much personal protective equipment is given per visit. It is hoped that this helps to prevent any worries that you may have when welcoming a carer into your home.
